Lake Powell

The Laubs take an annual family trip to lake Powell with 4 other families. Last year I got to go with them and this year we all went!
Bailee is always posing for the camera.
We stayed the night at his sisters house in Kanab wednesday night, got up early Thursday morning and drove to the doc.

It takes a couple hours to drive out to where we camp.

May as well have a little nap - we're going so fast you can barely keep your eyes open anyway.

When we got to our usual camping spot there were people in it but they said they would be leaving in a few hours. So we just floated around on the boat and paddle boards to pass the time.

This year was a little crazy. It started raining….and raining….and raining! We spent A LOT of time in the tent trying to stay warm and dry. We sang of lot of songs, told a lot of stories and listened to music till our phones died. (there is no cell phone service where we are-and obviously no power to charge them). It was also VERY windy. One night I had to use my legs and arms to hold the tent up while the kids were trying to sleep, Anna is a little scared of the wind and thought she was going to die so she spent most of the night screaming in terror. It made for some very long nights and days. Especially since the tent leaked and most of our blankets were wet and someone (won't say who) puked so it was pretty smelly too!

The few hours when the sun did come out we played and tubed and swam as much as we could. We had fun sitting under tarps with the other families talking and eating food. It definitely won't be  a trip we forget - I hope it will be better weather next year!!
Also, I wish I had some pictures (my phone died) of us with Josh and SheriDawns family. It was so fun, they found us and stayed the weekend with us - that was awesome.
oooh I just found a few more pictures from Facebook that other people took. I wish I had more pictures of the kids. They built an awesome huge slide out of tarps down a hill and brought a water pump to pump water out of the lake down it. There are a few pics from that - the kids loved it!

Carrie and Bailee going down on an inner tube.
Me going down on Randy - less bruises for me that way.
At the end it drops you right into the lake.
